Sacrifices and The Sacrifice

Leviticus 1-4

God provides detailed instructions for sacrificial offerings to atone for sin, including unintentional sin that becomes known to a person or to the group.

Holy Lord God, you demand sacrifice. There can be no forgiveness, no redemption, without blood. There can be no proper offering without a priest. The offering must be done properly according to divine instructions.

Father, thank you for sacrificing your own Son; Jesus, thank you for volunteering to be sacrificed, for giving yourself as the lamb. I wonder and marvel at the sacrificial love you have shown to me and to the world. How can I respond but to love you; to serve you; to give my life for you.

I am reading in Leviticus right now too, and I am amazed at all the detail! It truly makes me all the more thankful for our savior Jesus Christ! Johnny and I joke about how large our farm would need to be for all the sacrifices necessary on our behalf!

YES. And lots of blood. God really cares about details.
