Did you know that Christ Fellowship’s Spanish ministry has 13 different Spanish speaking nations represented in the service? Yes, right here in our own backyard, the nations are coming to our Spanish speaking service. One country that has been represented from the very first Spanish service ever held at our church has been Guatemala.

Long ago, the Mayan civilization was one of the grandest in the history of the world. Today, descendants of the old Maya, or the Indigenous as they are locally referred to, are in great need both spiritually and physically. There are 6 Million Mayan people of Guatemala, 70% of them live in extreme poverty, suffer a lot of discrimination and racism, and have very few opportunities to get education, medical care and decent jobs.

In 2005, a small group of 250 Mayan Quiche were found living in the woods up in the mountains. They where homeless, sick and without food. "My Father's House Ministry" reached out this group of people with the help of some missions teams and Churches from Guatemala and the USA. Today this Mayan community has a Christian Evangelical Church and about 12 concrete block houses.

During Spring Break (March 10-17, 2012) Christ Fellowship will take a team to Guatemala. This will be a whole family trip for ages four years and up. We will continue building a multi-purpose building in the Mayan community of Tabacal, to be used for a feeding center, Bible teaching and school. Part of the team will be doing evangelism and children’s ministry. We will also be providing medical, dental and eye care while sharing the Word of Jesus with the Guatemalan people.
