Why “Missional Prayer”?

Join the growing number of people who are gathering as people of “missional prayer”

It’s not like praying for God to bless your friend or to heal a loved one — although those prayers are important. Missional prayer is about participating in God’s redemptive plan of salvation for all people. It’s about having our hearts captured for, and shaped by, the things that matter to God. It’s about being part of the still unfolding story of God’s glory. It’s all about God.

God is on a mission and he allows us each the privilege of being part of his mission to set apart for himself a people from every nation, tribe and tongue (Revelation 5:9). He commissioned his people to go and make disciples of all nations. Joining him in this mission involves asking big things of him.

For most of us, this requires heart transformation. Without gaining God’s heart through prayer the things that are important to our Lord will be but a footnote in our lives.

Our God is able to do more than we could ever think or imagine (Ephesians 3:20-21), but he is waiting for us to ask of him. When we understand his passions and purposes; and we ask according to his will, he will do it (1 John 5:13-15).

Let continue on a life long journey of gaining God’s heart and yielding to his transformational work in us as we pray big prayers.
