Preparing for a wedding is a lot of work; guest list, location, apparel, decorations, celebration. A great deal of preparation, decisions and sometimes drama go into getting ready for a wedding. But, what preparation are you doing for the marriage. The first year of marriage is a transition.
Pre-marital counseling offers an opportunity to address details and issues so you don’t have the drama; asking the tough questions. We want to help. We offer premarital counseling to people inside and outside of the church. Our premarital counselors have gone through the training and use one of the most trusted curriculums today; David H. Olson’s assessment based curriculum Prepare/Enrich.
The assessment is completed online and gives feedback on many core areas that can trip a couple up including, but not limited to communication, conflict resolution, stress factors, partner style and habits, sexual expectations, family background, and personality. In addition the assessment is customized to each couple based on several areas that may not affect everyone.
The cost for pre-marital counseling is $150 and includes the assessment and 10-12 hours of couples counseling with a lay counselor or pastor that has completed a training class.
