While holiday lights brighten stores and the bustle of Christmas is in full swing, take a moment to reflect on the true Light that came into the world to light our way to Life.
Unlike the Gospels of Matthew and Luke which begin with Jesus’ genealogy or Mark who begins with John the Baptist, John reaches back to eternity past calling us to worship the divine Word of Life and Light made flesh who shows God’s glory and brings grace to the world.
John does not tell the story of the baby, but the story of one who has existed from all eternity, the one who came to light our way to life.
Written in poetic form, John’s first 18 verses invite us to reflect on who Jesus really is this Christmas. These verses give us one of the most elegant and elevated descriptions of Jesus in the entire New Testament. Explore and ponder the reality of Jesus Christ, the most unique person who has ever walked the earth.
